have you ever had a night like this?

I have had the craziest night ever.

It involved . . .
  • a puddle the size of a small pond on my kitchen floor
  • an emptying of the linen closet to clean up the small pond on the floor
  • a freezer full of thawed out food
  • an emergency visit from an appliance repair person at 4:45 PM
  • a return visit by said person to deliver a new fridge at 5:45 PM
  • kitchen counters and kitchen floors filled with food from the fridge
  • a quick and very necessary cleaning of the floor underneath the fridge
  • a new fridge in place and plugged in
  • a quick dinner made from the unquestionable food on the counters and the floor
  • a painstaking process of evaluating all food on the floor and counter
  • a large garbage can filled with half the food that used to be in the fridge and the freezer
  • a somewhat empty new fridge
  • a sweeping and mopping of the entire kitchen floor where the food used to be
  • a thorough cleaning of the counters where the food used to be
  • a daughter who in the midst of all the chaos decided to turn over a full cup of milk . . . on purpose
  • another daughter who asked me at least 100 times in 1 1/2 hours why we have a new fridge
  • repurposing the towels used to clean up the pond to clean up the milk
  • me falling on the wet spot on the floor left over from cleaning up the milk
  • a full washing machine of towels
. . . and all of the happened before 7:30 PM.

Then at 8 PM, I tucked my sweet, question-asking Monkey and my lovable, milk-spilling Peanut into bed.

We said our prayers.

We kissed goodnight.

And I looked at my Monkey and my Peanut, and I felt peace.

In the midst of the chaos of the past three hours, I felt peace.

Why am I telling you all of this?

Because I know at least one of you out there . . . probably more than one . . . knows exactly how I feel!

And that's why I love the blogging community!

Craft on!
